How to transfer my TPG landline number to another service provider

I have an existing TPG landline and ADSL bundle package ( PLAN ID 5113566)

5113566

or more than 5 years. Last week, I received a text message saying ADSL will be disconnected by 18 Feb 2022. So I contacted TPG customer service, they tried to upgrade ADSL to NBN for us, and we also receive a NBN modern from TPG yesterday. Yesterday, we received TPG NBN team calling us saying they are not able to install NBN for me, because the property address I provided, already got internode NBN service in place. Since I am one of the share tenancy in the building, TPG NBN team said there is only one NBN can be done for each property address, so TPG NBN team saying cannot provide NBN service to me. And once ADSL disconnected, the landline service will be disconnected as well.

I spoke to our building manager, there is Internode NBN service in this building this property address.

We need the landline service and we have been using TPG landline number for last 5 years. How can we keep the same landline number, should we transfer the TPG landline number to SIP service or VOIP Bizphone. Please advise SIP or Voip , which one suit us better.

Hi @genny020,

Welcome to TPG Community!

If you are to port out your telephone number, this must be completed prior to the account termination and you need to notify your new ISP that you wish to port in your existing number. Moreover, BizPhone and SIP are corporate; hence, recommended for business use.

Let me know if you require further help.

Regards,

Angeli

Hi ,

I've received your private response. You may apply for our BizPhone service. It requires a TPG provided handset and must be directly connected to Ethernet cabling. The service also requires a fixed broadband connection. BizPhone service is not available for telemarketing, call centre function and similar uses. Don't worry if you're unsure, one of our dedicated business specialists can help you out on 1300 365 313 or have a look at our Frequently Asked Questions.

Do you wish to receive a callback from our Business Team? Just PM your preferred callback number, time and date.

Cheers!

Angeli

Thank you Angeli

I tried to ring Telstra , my TPG landline number is 7*** ****, they said this number only belongs to TPG, cannot port out, do you know what other landline service provider can port out this number.
Telstra also said all future landlines will run on internet instead of copper line, if I don’t have internet account myself (TPG said not able to install NBN in this address since there is a building NBN provider in place, I may use the building NBN service ) how can I keep my own landline number

Also what’s the difference between biz phone and ISP trunking service. If I choose to use these service , I can keep my landline number with TPG . Is that right ?We are small office up to 5 staffs .
Thank you
Genny

Hi @genny020,

We do not have details on how other ISP operate to port an incoming number to their service but with TPG this must be completed prior to the account termination as mentioned by my colleague.

For more details about our TPG's BizPhone you may contact their support specialists directly 1300 365 313.

Thank you Angeli
