NBN Installation taking 2 months??

I registered and paid for a modem and the first month of my nbn plan on the 5/3/20. I am still waiting for this to be installed and my current plan with Telstra is about to be cut off. I am a uni student who also works from home so I require internet. I have only been able to get a hold of someone via Facebook and I have been told that it would be escalated to a provisioning team but I am yet to hear anything about the status of my nbn. I have spoken to a specialist who basically told me that it was NBN’s fault. They told me that I would receive and email or sms regarding my installation shortly and I am yet to receive anything. I really need the internet to be connecting for work and uni. Why is my installation taking so long? And if it continues to take this long, am I able to get a refund on my first month, $20 fee and modem?

Your NBN order is still showing as held. I can see our Helpdesk team have been pushing NBN for an update, but have not been given any new update. I have requested for our Provisioning Team to investigate again, who will call you back with an update.

I was told last time that someone from the provisioning team would call me with an update weeks ago and never received any contact
