The NBN called once about 10 days ago at an inconvenient time, so no discussion and they said they would phone back but no further attempts to contact me...

Well, as predicted a few posts ago, the NBN man came and spent about 15 minutes plugging my foxtel cable into the NBN box and hooking up th modem as per the instructions enclose with it, both of which I could have done myself if they sent the box, and avoided a totally unnecessary house visit by a technician....
Id rather have a cheaper 1 st month fee!!!!!!!
