Telstra cancellation

Hello my NBN is now connected thank you.
Telstra informs me that TPG will send them notice to cancel my plan with Telstra is this correct ?

The cancellation of your service with Telstra should be requested by the account holder itself. This means that you are the one who'll advise them to cancel the account as you are the owner of the service.

We don't have the authority to request for cancellation of your service to another provider.
