Get online support
I just got my NBN HFC connection setup and I received your new TP-Link modem (Archer VR1600v). But I want to use my own router to connect directly to the NBN box I have in my home. Can I have this NBN HFC connection connect directly into my Asus Router (RT-AC88U) via the NBN box of course and not have to use the TP-Link modem you sent me? I don't want to use the VIOP phone so thats not a problem.
Hi
We do not support 3rd party products but it should still work as long as the modem is compatible with the NBN.
There is a thread on the forum that relates to setting the VLAN Id on Asus routers that may be of interest to you if you have issues.

The VLAN Id needs to be set to 2.
Then you should just have to setup the PPPoE dialer with your TPG Username and password.
Good Luck.
