Mobile Sim Only Plan

I have been a TPG customer since TPG started operating back when 56k dial-up internet was cool. Currently I have TPG my ADSL internet and 4 mobile phone plan at $16.99 each after $3 discount. The mobile plan has $550 worth of calls and SMS with 1.5GB data.

Now I have transferred 2 mobile phone plans to the new deal Unlimited calls and SMS and 2GB data at $19.99. I was hoping that I would still get a discount of $3. TPG customer service team member refused to discuss any further. I have to pay $19.99 while a friend signed up on the same TPG plan only pays $10. Cannot understand the logic. Almost 20 years of loyalty accounts for nothing.

Same plan... I pay $19.99 and a friend pays $10…where did I go wrong …oh yes LOYALTY !!!!!!!

Another company is offering unlimited calls and SMS and 3GB data for $20. Time for me to move my internet and mobile account to another company unless TPG offers me a good deal.

I sent PM on 1 Feb ...still waiting for TPG to call me.

As per last month usage......only used $91.76 of $550 for calls & 658.823MB of 1500MB of data but prepayment deposit was reduced by about 25%.....why????????

Moved to a new plan paying $19.99 but a friend who signed up same day paying only $10....

Been a TPG customer for about 15 years but the friend only 1 day.

Please explain???????????

I recently had exactly the same experience.  I've been a TPG customer for 17 years and like you, I was on the same mobile plan which gave me $550 worth of calls and 1.5 GB of data for $19.99 with a $3 loyalty discount because i have my internet and home phone with TPG.  I enquired about moving to the new unlimited plan but was told that if I did I would lose my loyalty discount.  I spoke to several different people at TPG on several different occasions and each time i was basically told that there was nothing they could do about it.

I was so disappointed with the TPG that I decided to move my mobile to Vaya which gives me unlimited calls and SMSs and 1.5 GB of data for $14 a month.  Within minutes of my phone number being ported from TPG to Vaya an $11 charge appeared on my credit card.  I had a look on my online TPG statement and it is a charge for porting my mobile number.  As I was only 14 days into a 31 day billing cycle, I called TPG to see when I would get a refund of the unused portion and was told that I wasn't entitled to receive a refund as I had already used my phone during this billing cycle, which makes absolutely no sense!

I was initially very disappointed with TPG for removing the loyalty discount.  17 years is a long time, particularly in an industry that hasn't been around for all that long.  I am even more disappointed now, after charging me to port my number and refusing to give me a refund on the unused portion of my plan.  If you do decide to move to a new service provider, make sure it is at the end of your current billing cycle!

Spoke to TPG...made no difference...discount only given to new customers ...not to loyal customers.

Time to change teleco....Kogan, Vodafone, Vaya has good deals for SIM only.
