Update in Mobile plan

Hi, needing help. Curious as to how long it will take to update from my old mobile plan to a new one. Last week I requested the update and I went on today to top up my data as I ran out this morning and couldn't because it was in the process of updating. I need my data daily for work and am trying to figure out when the update will be completed. Is it the end of my billing period/ month?
