can't access voice mail when roaming

I'm in Java and want to access my voice mail. I have diverted all calls to voice mail as suggested. When I call the tpg number I'm instructed to enter my number and press hash, but nothing happens when I do and then the voice hangs up.

For retrieving the Voicemail overseas, you need to dial "+61414121121".

Afterward, you need to:

1. Press ‘*’
2. Enter your mobile number starting with '04'
3. Press ‘#’
4. Enter your voicemail security code
5. Press ‘#’
