WiFi is on, but I want Ethernet. There are 4 ethernet plugs in the cupboard too (or to my amateur eye, that's what they look like). I'm hoping that if I connect my modem to one of those plugs, it will activate other plugs around my apartment. Is that the case? Surely I don't need to run a long cable from the cupboard modem to my computer. I'd be grateful for someone's help, please.
Hi @Zandie ,
Welcome to the community!
Yes, you may connect the modem/router's LAN port to your Wall Ethernet port just simply change the connection mode to DHCP. You may visit this article: https://community.tpg.com.au/t5/Modems-and-Devices/Are-the-Tpg-routers-DHCP-compatible/m-p/25448#M25.... Please ensure that the Ethernet's wall socket are working/active.
Let us know how it will go and should you require further assistance.
Cheers!
