Thanks for your reply. Do you thing that there would be a worthwhile advantage in going to a more much expensive router like the Netgear AC1200 VDSL/ADSL Modem Router D6220 and would that router be compatible with TPG's ADSL2+?

I'm considering buying a commonly available low cost modem for my ADSL2+ and phone service. The two on my short list are the TP-LINK N300 Wireless Modem Router TD-W8961N and the D-Link N300 Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Router DSL-2740M. Would these work OK and are there any known disadvantages? Most of the modems suggested by TPG seem to be expensive or unavailable or both. I'd buy the one available modem from TPG but I would have difficulty being home for delivery.
