I cancelled a mobile number after repeated harrassing phone calls. I requested a new number, and a new sim card was sent and activated. The old number still has not been deactivated, as messagebank still is active.And I am still being billed for the old number after being told by support that the $19.99 monthly overcharge in the month I requested it's cancellation would be recredited to my account (the new number's monthly charge is $10 for 6 months).
