Hi, Our modem has been fried twice during storms due to a surge through the phone line (once in November 2020, and again last night) which then takes several days to be fixed waiting for a technician to come and replace the modem.  Hence the question about a surge protector for the phone line is very relevant.  Are you able to describe why you suggest a surge protector is not necessary (or would not have helped), or whether it perhaps could have helped and therefore whether we can use one or not.  Thanks. ...
