Thanks for the tips @arc_nineohnine  but I still did not have any luck.   This is how the console looked   I copied the login that TPG created from the old modem but it was not a good password they used. Would it still show the 'The network cable is unplugged.' error if an incorrect password was setup on the Asus modem or would it be a different error?   These are the admin screens if they are of any use   ... Hi @arc_nineohnine  Thanks for the instructions. I have followed them all but have become stuck on how to check if the services-start script is working similar to @trumble . When I use the './services-start' command, nothing seems to happen - it just goes to the next line. Is that what you mean by 'ssh in and run it manually to make certain' or is there something else to do.
