Firmware update for Archer VR1600v V2

Good morning   I have read posts for firmware update for Archer VR1600v V2.0.   I checked TP Link website, this router cannot be updated automatically through cloud. This router needs to be updated manually.   As of today, I believe I have the latest firmware. Can you please let us know the way forward for the future updates? Do we need to check every month?
