Hi there, As part of an annual audit for Working From Home, I need to ensure that my router is running the latest available firmware. Currently my Archer VR1600v shows: * Firmware Version: 0.1.0 0.9.1 v5006.0 Build 220518 Rel.32480n * Hardware Version: Archer VR1600v v1.0 00000000 Can you please confirm whether this Build 220518 is the latest available? Q1. which SMTP server is reporting that message: ------------------------------------------------------------------ The following recipient(s) cannot be reached: 'Axxxxxx Wxxx' on 10/11/2022 5:04 PM 452 #4.5.3 Too many recipients. ------------------------------------------------------------------ * if it is a TPG server, then TPG are best placed to answer the question * if it is some other server, you'd need to ask the Postmaster for that domain Q2. have you tried splitting your mailing list into two parts of roughly equal size, to see whether the messages are delivered? * this gives an immediate workaround, so that you are not badly impacted, it it works

Hi there, Sorry to have to ask again, but this is an annual requirement due to Working From Home and PCI DSS Compliance checks. I have the Archer VR1600v v1 router. Firmware Version = 0.1.0 0.9.1 v5006.0 Build 200810 Rel.53181n Q1. is this the most up-to-date version available? Q2. if newer is available, how do I arrange for an upgrade to the latest? I am posting this purely for the benefit of others ... and I would hope also that TPG Support will make a note of this and put this into the TPG Support Knowledgebase! I just upgraded yesterday from NBN12 to NBN50 and was keen to check out the improved performance, so imagine my disappointment when I found I was getting just 10Mbps Download still. Odd thing though, was that the Upload was nearly 20Mbps. What? Clearly NBN50 was in play, but not for downloads. Did a HUGE amount of testing, spoke with TPG Support, we eventually discovered that other computers on my home network were happily downloading at 45Mbps. Why not MY laptop? I checked the cabling path, switches, router, modem, nope, no joy. Made no difference whether using ethernet cable or WiFi. Then I tried using the iiNET Speed Test (https://www.iinet.net.au/internet-products/broadband/speed-test/) and got 45Mbps. But with SpeedTest.NET (www.speedtest.net) just 10Mbps. What the ... ??? Alright, I know that NBN50 is working ... hmmmm ... lots of Googling and newsgroup reading ... resetting the TCP/IP Winsock stack. fiddling with Receive Window AutoTuning ... nope ... nada ... no joy ... and then I finally found the cause, thanks to some other Dell users who'd had the same issue. Uninstall a bit of Dell-supplied software called SmartByte from my laptop. Immediately I am getting 45Mbps. Thanks Dell, thanks SmartByte, thanks a LOT, you just cost me half my Saturday day off!

Yeah, sorry guys, it was my mistake. Somewhere in transcription of settings, I lost a character from the server name. Happened when I was tweaking the autodiscover record in my DNS. All fixed now and connecting happily. Rookie mistake; much embarassment here!

I'm new to NBN but have been with TPG for years. I'm trying to make IMAP (ports 143 or 993) or POP (ports 110 or 995) connections to a web hosting company (emailsvr.com) however connections always fail. Yet when I do exactly the same from my workplace, I can connect right away. Is there any restriction at all that TPG place on the usage of IMAP, POP or SMTP protocol connections to third-party hosting companies? (I'm an experienced systems administrator, so I am struggling to come up with any alternative explanation for this).

Thanks for the idea. Yes, I've looked at the syslog data previously, but unfortunately it is overwhelmed with hundreds and hundreds of Information logs relating to VOIP: ID Time Type Level Log Content 1 2018-12-31 18:13:30 VOIP Information Register to server address 172.26.0.65:5060 2 2018-12-31 18:12:47 VOIP Information can not find any account forthe incoming call I've also registered a dynamic DNS record with NoIP, however there's no guarantee that detecting a change in IP Address would represent all possible reconnect events (i.e. one might reconnect with the same IP and therefore not be detected). Hopefully there will be an updated firmware somewhere in our future that will report this info for FTTC users.

I recently moved to NBN Fibre To The Curb (FTTC) and I think we finally have a stable connection; there were some initial dropout issues, hopefully now resolved. We have the TP-Link Archer VR1600v router running firmware v0.1.0 0.9.1 v5006.0 Build 180828 Rel.56416n. Because NBN FTTC uses the EWAN interface on the router, there is no reporting of connection uptime. Q1. is a new version of TP-Link firmware coming which will report on connection uptime? Q2. is there any other method you can recommend to check this in the meantime? I know it can be detected by TPG Support, but I'm looking for something I can check myself. Thanks, Steve

Am just wondering whether it is possible to pre-pay some months ahead for my NBN service? e.g. if I wanted to pre-pay 12 months? If possible, is there an email address I can contact to arrange this?

Hi Shane, Thanks for the reply. YES, the install process finally reached Completed status today. In my TP-Link router I can now see the new VOIP Phone Number referenced as "Phone 1". I have been able to connect this to my old PABX here at home (LG Aria system) and it is working; was able to place an Outgoing call fine; was able to call in and all the extensions rang as they should. Ever so slight lag/latency, to be expected with VOIP so I'm not worried about that. I checked with speedtest.net and my NBN12 plan is giving me 11Mbps Download and 0.9Mbps Upload at 5pm; seems about right. Thanks for getting back to me. Cheers, Steve

I seem to be stuck in limbo. We started the process of moving to NBN more than a month ago, but have had a number of issues. All attempts to port our old home phone number failed (Telstra is hopeless). We abandoned that number and asked for TPG to issue a new number. I am now waiting for the installation/configuration to be completed. The person who was managing the porting / number process has "gone quiet" (probably away on leave?). I logged a support ticket more than a week ago, but have had no reply as yet. Can someone please pick this issue up and run with it, to chase it through until all is resolved? Best way to contact me is via the email address registered with this community account.
