Hi. No the Eero is not meant to replace your tplink router/modem. Cos the eero is not a modem. The eero router should be the only connection from tplink modem. Black box > tplink > Eero. Then everything and every device should be connected via eero. As it does the routing and dishes out IPs. ... View more

Yes and when I power cycle the modem it all comes back online. For now the network is behaving - this is day 2 without interruption. With EERO setup with VLAN uplink with VLAN ID 2 I will watch for a few days and come back here. ... View more

Hi BasilDV, I will PM you too and here are some more detail   Config: Tp-Link modem > Eero Router > Internet Yes when it droped in this setting.  When I had the Airport Extreme devices it dropped too but not as often but sometimes the Airport router will not get an IP. With te EERO Setup as a router directly connected to the modem.  No other device connected to modem Modem WiFi radios disabled Only EERO feeding other Ethernet devices and WiFi Uplink VLAN tagging option on under ISP settings with VLAD ID 2 The connection dropped in th emorning and when I used this setting all day without it worked.  However, the following morning like clockwork the connection dropped. I then connected my main computer directly wit Ethernet to the modem and disconnected the EERO. I logged into the modem admin and saw it was disconnected and no IP was assigned to the computer. It then connected after 20 mins.  I reconnected the EERO then directly back to the modem and today again like yesterday it has been stable. Tomorrow will be another test.   ... View more

Hi yes I would like some info from you. I am with TPG NBN network with a Archer VR1600v modem/router from Tp-link. I bought an Eero 6 mesh system (3pack). Eero router connected to Tp-Link modem/router. Wifi from Tp-Link is off - I always had it off as I previously used Apple Airport devices for Wifi without any issues. DHCP enabled on modem/router. Connection just intermittently drops on Ethernet and Wifi. I tried the following before resetting it all back to default as they all failed. 1. Disable DHCP so the Eero hands out IP - no luck 2. Couldn’t set modem to Bridge mode. (NBN) 3. Tried turning on uplink VLAN in ISP settings in Eero set up. It had issues but after resetting the modem - it seems stable. However, connectivity drops. I have read a lot of forums that say since TPG uses PPPOE and VLAN tagging they aren’t the right ISP for the new technologies like EERO. Help! If this doesn’t work I will need to just return the EERO or change ISP. ... View more
