I made another call and it worked, and the line was clearer. Those were the first calls I've ever made on this line, so perhaps some glitch that's now sorted. You can delete this thread and I'll start another if the problem recurs, thanks.

Made my first call on my NBN phone line today, voice on the other side (major bank) was garbled and broken, and line failed (got an engaged tone) after about 15 seconds. I'm sure TPG did not neglect to charge me for the call though. Grrr.

Fantastic news! Your TPG NBN Broadband with Home Phone service is now active. Except it isn't. Connect your phone handset to UNI-V Port 1 on your NBN Connection Box It's dead. And the NBN box has no lights on that port either. Sigh. Rebooting the NBN box has not helped. It's now over a week and counting. Plan ID 6679338 Phone Number private Service Type 63: NBN Home Phone Status Active This property has had NBN connected for 3 years, but somehow it's too hard to get a phone line working.
