Hi David   As you know, TP Link Archer VR1600v has in built 4 port switch. So, my Window10 Laptop is directly connected to one of the TP Link in built LAN port. Cisco 1841 is also connected to one of the free ports of TP Link LAN port. So, both devices are essentially on the same broadcast domain. Windows10 Laptop specs below and Cisco 1841 physical router both getting DHCP address assigned from TP Link Router. VMnet0 to bridge between EVE guest and Win10 NIC (Wind10 NIC is using Wired Ethernet Adapter)     Windows10 Specs (Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80GHz, 1992 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s) with Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB) Out of which 8 GB is allocated to EVE-NG Virtaul Machine with in VMWare.   Cisco1841 has traceroute function but does not have SPAN Port (packet Sniffing feature) I have tested same setup onto my Desktop (again connected to one of the other free port on TP Link) and noticed similar pattern of packet loss. I don’t have any other NBN/Broadband router where i can test.  If i try using WI-FI adapter (in built with in my laptop and desktop) and map WI FI adapter with VMnet0 bridged adapter, EVE-NG VM gets DHCP IP address assigned but EVE-NG router does not get any DHCP IP address.     Thanks ... Cisco 1841 router is directly connected to TP Link Archer router and getting DHCP IP address assigned. EVE NG Software based router (also getting DHCP assigned address from TP Link router.    VMnet0 is Bridged with within VMware end and in virtual editor VMnet0 is mapped to Ethernet Adatper Realteck NOT WI FI adapter)    Real Cisco Router - Directly connected to TP Link 1841-B#sh ip int brief Interface IP-Address OK? Afternoon David,    Under ICMP Ping: both local and remote are ticked. I however was still not able to ping.    So I unchecked both save the config and checked both again and save config again. I then Rebooted Archer TP Link. Now I am able to ping 192.168.1.1 but still cannot ping Public Facing IP of TP Link (WAN) address.    Thanks      ... View more

Hi David,   Accessing Archer via web is not an issue. I was trying to test standard ICMP (Ping connectivity) test. I used to ping my default gateway is 192.168.1.1 from my computer running standard Windows, not any virtualisation software and it always worked. Hi David    cisco Router is connected to VMWare adapters (1: Bridge adapter- use LAN range, 2 Host Only-which is user defined 3. NAT adapter, which is NATTED address). In my case My cisco router is linked with briged interface of VMWare and getting DHCP ip address assigned (in the range of 192.168.1.X/24 which is LAN range). Strange thing is, when Cisco router gets dhcp ip address assigned, i cannot ping outside interface 8.8.8.8 etc. Neither can i ping default gateway 192.168.1.1. (I am not sure if TPG has change any thing, i even cannot ping 192.168.1.1 - default gateway (TPG TP Link router) from my laptop though i can ping outside 8.8.8.8)   2nd thing is, though Cisco router gets dhcp ip address assigned. But in Archer TPG Router under Client List, I can see MAC Address and IP address Assigned for other devices (for static and dynamic entries) but Not for Cisco router.      Similarly,  Under Security> IP & MAC Binding, I can see binding (ARP Cache IP and MAC address binding) for other devices  but not Cisco router IP address nor MAC address.  ... Hi David I only have single line of config to get ip address from dhcp in this case archer.    conf t inteface e0/0 ip address dhcp end   I dont need any another port or multiple ports to connect to the EVE NG / VMWare(simulatatio software). Once Cisco device gets ip address, my pc should be able to connect / ping to device on dhcp assigned address. Thanks David for your reply.    If Cisco is disconnected, does the Archer give proper ip addresses to ethernet and wifi devices?  Yes.  What is the dynamic pool range (100 to 199)? What is lease time? IP address pool: 192.168.1.101- 200. Lease time 1440 minutes   What model number is the Cisco device? (It is acting as a router, not a switch?) I have tried 3725 router and also Cisco IOS/IOU routers.    Does it get a proper ip address when it is connected to the Archer? No it does not. All I see is Ethernet0/0 unassigned YES DHCP up up "Internet address will be negotiated using DHCP"   Are DHCP server functions disabled on Cisco? Cisco device is acting as dhcp client. No dhcp functions are running on Cisco    What else is connected to the Cisco device?
