Alot of Quick Disconnections And Heavy Packetloss

lloydizm
Level 2

Huge packetloss on all gaming platforms (PC, PS4 and Mobile) and a fair few quick disconnections for maybe the last 48 hours.

Using a ASUS DSL-AC68U
imgur.com/a/ho39YxQ < 5mins uptime.

imgur.com/a/XDya54d < 11mins uptime.

Using a TP Link Archer VR1600

imgur.com/a/6YBlAhG < 5mins uptime.
imgur.com/a/6YBlAhG < 15mins uptime.

I get heavy packetloss with both modems.

I upload a little bit of data for work so my FTP client keeps disconnecting me through uploads on both modems too.

Any help would be great. Thank you.

Hi @lloydizm

Thanks for your query!

Let me have a look for you, and I will get back to you ASAP.

There is also a new ''TPG Mobile APP'' to help you with various trouble shooting and account issues, via a mobile phone app.

Hi @lloydizm

Im trying to check your TPG-FTTB(VDSL) service.

It appears your modem is offline at the moment.

Did you turn it off?

Thanks,

Hi @lloydizm

I can see it back up now. It is getting the full 100/40 sync speeds.

FTTB is mostly really reliable, and has the least faults out of all our products.

You are not using a TPG supplied modem, so we cant help you too much there.

It could be a faulty modem, or the actual phone socket.

You could try a different modem to TS for yourself.

as i stated above i have been using the modem you have supplied whilst i have been getting all these disconnects since its started.

i am still using the modem you at TPG have provided (TP LINK ARCHER VR1600V)

imgur.com/a/6YBlAhG < 5mins uptime.
imgur.com/a/6YBlAhG < 15mins uptime.

whilst things get back to its original state.

and this wasnt a problem with the speed, its a problem with sync and packetloss.

hi @lloydizm

The sync is def an issue, especially if on 2x modems.

Try removing any filters at the sockets, replace the line cord.

Try a different socket if possible for TS.

If none of these work, we will lodge a fault for someone to come have a look.

hello @David_M

I always run it isolated, as i have no phone here.

I tried 4 different phone line cords, about 30cm - 100cm.
I dont have another socket to use.

If you could lodge a fault that would be best.

Hi @lloydizm

I checked this out today.

It showed your modem was in sync for 1day 13hours at 100/40 sync speeds. The line looks good.

Any server issues etc is something i cant help with.

Thanks,
