Bad NBN connection

Although we are ‘connected’ to the WIFI, both the 5G and non 5G is really really slow. 5G does not work at all in actuality. I have tried troubleshoot and even checking the speed online is impossible as the website stops working whilst loading. I have created PPPoE but this does not work either.
Apart from WIFI our connection has been in the lower 1-2 bars constantly for the past week, ever since our area was affected about two weeks ago and people came to check the outage.
