Configure TPG FTTB connection (NOT NBN) with Amazon Eero 6 plus - Need help please

Hi Folks,

I have a TPG FTTB connection (NOT NBN), and has Archer VR1600V router provided by TPG. I recently brought Amazon eero 6 plus which supports PPOE. Can anyone guide if there are any settings to be tweaked on TPG router or configuration to be changed for Eero 6+ to be working.

Couple of questions:

1. Do we need to have the eero mesh router connected always to the TPG router using the ethernet cable they provided?

2. Do we need to set TPG router in any bridge mode or DMZ enabled?

3. Any way to confirm if internet is passing through Eero and not TPG router after configuring it

Thanks,

Hi @bhattaru22 . The Eero is setup as wireless router with PPPoE and username and password.

The Archer is put into Bridge mode. In this mode, the VOIP phone service is not available.

Before reconfig the Archer, check if VLAN ID is enabled. If so, it must be set in the new connection.

To put VR1600 in bridge mode:

Basically, delete the VLAN 2 connection and add a new VLAN 2 connection in Bridge mode.

Connect Eero WAN port to Archer LAN port.
