Dismal ADSL2/NBN upload speeds (issue for years!)

Alirah

Hi guys,

I have never (not once!) in the many years I have been with TPG had more than 1mb (absolute maximum) of uploading speed. I was on ADSL+2 for many years (with TPG), and thought that once we switched to NBN this issue would be solved, but no, the speeds are just as bad Smiley Sad

If anyone in my household tries to upload any decent-sized file (more than a small picture) it completely kills the internet for everyone else. No pages load, not even simple text based pages. As a result I request that no-one in my household uploads anything, which really shouldn't be necessary.

The average upload speed (when I have tested over the years) has been about 0.4mb. I just tested it now on day 2 of the new NBN, and it is 0.8.

This is surely not normal right?

Can you please advise. Thank you!

Hi @Alirah,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

From what I can tell, you're currently on an NBN12 service plan which means that the upload speed is up to 1Mbps only. You may opt to upgrade to the next Speed Tier NBN50 which can provide you an upload speed of up to 20Mbps.

We can get an Accounts Specialist to talk to you if you're amenable. Please send us a PM with your best contact number and preferred time for a call. Similarly, you can upgrade your plan online by logging in to your account. You may refer to the link below for the guide:
