FTTC - Using Fortinet 60E for NAT, DHCP etc

Hi

I'm on FTTC. I'm using Archer VR600v for the NAt, DHCP and firewall duties. There is also au ubiquiti AC - LR providing wifi at the back of the house.

Is it possible to have the following setup?

NBN-----Fortigate 60E |-----LAN

                                    | ----Ubquiti AC -LR

                                    | ----Archer VR1600v

Reason for this is the ingress point is in the front of the house, so I use the inbuilt WIFI on the Archer. So I would like to use the wifi with the new setup as well

Fortigate will be doing NAT, DHCP and Firewall duries. Also I need to have a dedicated ip for the fortigate to access it

Thanks

Nathan

Hi Nathan,

Thanks for your message and apologies for the delayed response as theTPG Community is not manned by Moderators on Weekends.

With your new Network (LAN) once you define the Fortinet 60E as the Router connected to your NBN Network Connection Device (NCD) the Archer 1600 would need to be setup as a switch by disabling the DHCP.

Keep in mind if you will lose the VOIP (Phone1) function on the Archer by using it the way you are suggesting

I hope that makes sense.
