IPTV channels

On 13/6/2019, I asked why some iptv channels weren't working.

On 16/6/2019, I received this reply:

There are issues specially with Sydney Local Channels that are currently under investigation but no Estimated Time of Resolution.

Note: TPG IPTV is a free service and it is still in Beta Stage. There's no guarantee that it will work 24/7.

On 12/7/2019, I made the following comment but received no answer.

IPTV has been available since at least 2007 since I have an email from then. Between 2007 and a few years ago, the delivery method to the user changed since I had to call support about that. So, IPTV should not still be in beta testing. (And it used to work better.) Unless you are testing out a new way to get the TV data stream to each exchange.

Hi david64,

We can see that you have received an email from us informing you that TPG will be discontinuing its IPTV service from 5 August 2019. This means you will no longer be able to use this service from this date.

Your TPG ADSL2+ service, including your plan, fees and any contract term, will continue unchanged.

We thank you for your use of the TPG IPTV service.

I don't recall seeing an email saying IPTV was to be discontinued. What date was it sent?

The only email I received was on 17th June 2019:

"There are issues specially with Sydney Local Channels that are currently under investigation but no Estimated Time of Resolution.

Note: TPG IPTV is a free service and it is still in Beta Stage. There's no guarantee that it will work 24/7."

IPTV wasn't planned to be discontinued then.

Another clever thing that won't be available with our modern NBN.

Actually, it wasn't an email. It was a reply in the "iptv channels" thread I opened on 13/6/2019. When my last comment went unanswered, I closed it and opened this one on 19/7/2019.

I also checked my inbox via web mail and there is no email regarding iptv in the inbox, nor in spam. I don't delete mail items on the mail server.

Between my initial thread and 24th July, I don't believe that iptv was fully working; a number of channels were missing. Did it prove too hard to fix, or was it not worth the trouble, seeing as how it won't work on NBN. ADSL now has a use-by date.

I see that iptv has been stopped as you said. Last thing to do is remove the IPTV product from the Personal Products web page.
