Internet not working

Hi there - my internet isn’t working for the last couple of days. When I troubleshoot the problem the error message I am getting says “windows can’t communicate with device or resource (primary DNS server)” can you tell me how to fix the problem? I have tried turning the modem off and back on and restarting the computer. I am located in The Gap qld 4061. Thanks heaps!
