I had a sudden increase in latency. I used to have a permanent 29ms to a server in Sydney and now is 45ms. Nothing has changed at home. I am using the same laptop at the same location and I know it is not a bandwidth issue. We are only two people at home. I have fibre to the premises and a 100Mb plan. The speed is fine but I don´t know why the latency increased like that all of a sudden. Any idea what is going on?
Hi @cabarreror . On your computer, open a Command window.
Can you do ping command to your router, its probably 192.168.1.1
Then, do ping and tracert commands to some websites you use, specifically the server with the long latency, as well as others, eg. facebook.com, youtube.com, your bank, TV streaming sites.
There might be a network problem on the route to this one server, compared to other websites.
P.S. If it's Call of Duty and in SE Asia or even in Australia, the routing might be mucked up.
Thanks David. I got this:
192.168.1.1: 1ms
google.com: 45ms
commbank.com.au: 32ms
Sydney: 45ms
Not sure what I can conclude from this. Not sure where google server is. The thing is the ping to Sydney used to be 29ms and now is 45ms.
@cabarreror . Need the tracert results. It will show where delays are occurring.
Here are results when I do this.

Some of the routers going to Commbank didn't respond to ping so the hop timed out.

@cabarreror . There is some delay in the external network between your FTTP box and the second address in tracert (your router's default gateway). This is something for TPG to fix.
You've got 1 ms response time to local LAN so it's not wifi interference.
Send a Private Message to a moderator to get this fixed.
https://community.tpg.com.au/t5/Welcome/How-do-I-private-message-PM-in-the-community/m-p/4093#M45
When this fixed, do tracert again and keep the output for reference.
Thanks for that. How do I find a moderator?
@cabarreror . I've sent one. It's a bit tricky when a moderator is not attached to a thread. They'll look at it tomorrow.
Hi @adib_rahmang,
I received a call but I was at work and he did not seem to have a solution.
Do you think there is something that could be done to get back to the previous ping?
Thanks,
