NBN Recurring dropouts (ppp3 and EWAN link error)

mpan
Level 2

We have been getting recurring dropouts throughout the day, with the same error messages being displayed each time:

ppp3 Timeout waiting for PADO packets

ppp3

EWAN link down

etc..

The dropouts occur regularly and usually last about 10mins. Checked the NBN outage site and there are no current outages at our address. We have had no internet issues for the past year on NBN, and the dropouts only started occuring a few weeks ago. I have attached the system logs showing the errors (Archer VR1600v), hope this can be looked at and resolved soon.

Hi @mpan

There are different types of dropouts that you may experience:

1. Network dropouts, this dropout is caused by a line fault on TPG or NBN's network. Affecting all device(s) LAN/Wireless connected to the modem/router this may require a real-time test and investigation by our Technicians and Engineers.

2. Wireless dropouts, this issue only affects the device(s) connected via Wi-Fi which can easily be fix by doing adjustment to the modem/router's settings.

3. Dropouts caused by ongoing outage in your area.

In the event that you experience dropouts via Wireless/Wi-Fi connection, we recommend having a read on the following articles:
