NBN - broadband equipment waiting to be configured

I cannot connect to the internet. I've connected my modem, which is a TP link vx420 G2v. I connected the yellow Ethernet cable to uni d1 on the nbn device and the other side to the WAN of the modem. However when I try to connect to WiFi I get the message, your newly installed broadband equipment is waiting to be configured. I have this message still appear and can't seem to fix it.
