NBN drops out repeatedly

Hi,

Yesterday afternoon and now I'm having repeated dropouts, recovering after 1-2 minutes.Worked well in the morning.

Network box shows only 3 or 2 lights and the router "Internet" light goes out. It recovers by itself but this is very disruptive for working or studying from home.

What's causing this?

Thanks

Hi @mel_user

There are different types of dropouts that you may experience:

1. Network dropouts, this dropout is caused by a line fault on TPG or NBN's network. Affecting all device(s) LAN/Wireless connected to the modem/router this may require a real-time test and investigation by our Technicians and Engineers.

2. Wireless dropouts, this issue only affects the device(s) connected via Wi-Fi which can easily be fix by doing adjustment to the modem/router's settings.

3. Dropouts caused by ongoing outage in your area.

In the event that you experience dropouts via Wireless/Wi-Fi connection, we recommend having a read on the following articles:

Hi Ahra_G,

You guys just copy-paste your standard response, without reading the original post!

I clearly put "Network box shows only 3 or 2 lights and the router "Internet" light goes out."

The NBN box - that you supplied - loses connection! I can not know what's the cause of it e.g. local vs NBN-wide and was asking for advice/opinion on how to get a better, more reliable connection.

Thanks
