NCD random dropouts

I'm on nbn 100 and on FTTC and over the past month i have been experiencing slow internet, so few days ago i reset both the modem (TP-Link VR1600) and the ncd by pushing a pin at the back for 15 seconds and that fixed the issue. However, now i'm getting random dropouts (once or twice) on the ncd almost everyday. Could this have something to do with the ncd (got it in 2020 April) or maybe the dpu? or did resetting both the modem and ncd affect my end to the TPG nbn server?

Hi @Toycrane,

There are different types of dropouts that you may experience:

  1. Network dropouts, this dropout is caused by a line fault on TPG or NBN's network. Affecting all device(s) LAN/Wireless connected to the modem/router this may require a real-time test and investigation by our Technicians and Engineers.
  2. Wireless dropouts, this issue only affects the device(s) connected via Wi-Fi which can easily be fix by doing adjustment to the modem/router's settings.
  3. Dropouts caused by ongoing outage in your area. You may check this here: https://support.tpg.com.au/servicestatus
