Ongoing issue with routing 270ms to Asia that drops to 105ms with a routing service

Hey Guys,

Back again with ongoing routing issues Smiley Very Happy

As it stands I'm playing Genshin Impact with my wife. The connection to the Asia server is 270ms on the PS5. When I play on PC or iPad it's  the same but I can activate ExitLag which instantly reduces it to 105-110ms. Unfortunatly there isn't any service like that for PS5 so I'm just hoping there is something that can be done from the ISP side. Weirdly for a few weeks over Christmas it went down to 170ms on the PS5 which was an improvement but in the past few days has gone back up toe 270-290ms.

I can't find a way to tracert the ExitLag routing as it's done in their app via single applications only but here is the tracert to the listed server IP. It is listed as "JP Tokyo 8.211.162.26:22102"

Tracing route to 8.211.162.26 over a maximum of 15 hops

I've also put some screenshots from the ExitLag, hopefully they aren't to small to see!

I'm really hoping there is something that can be done from the TPG side to smooth connection because it's crazy that I can play on my iPad with 105ms while my wife is on the PS5 with 270ms.

I seen some people saying changing their DNS to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 fixed it but that didn't really make sense from a routing point to me and when I tested there was no change.

The issue seems to be all Asia and SEA as any game with a SEA server has the same issue. This is just the current example.

Any other tests or ideas please let me know, and apologies for my badly laid out post Smiley Happy just done an overnight shift and brain is rather fog.

Hi @Gupp . DNS is not relevant for routing.

Lag problems generally caused by bad routing getting to overseas servers.

Something to try.

Open a command window; Run as Administrator.

Start the game. Make it do something to run by itself, so it creates network traffic.

In the command window, do:    netstat -anb

This displays all the network connections in Windows. Look for a connection that is using a program that looks like it might be for the game. It shows the remote ip address and port.

Try ping and tracert to this ip address.

Stop the game.

Activate Exitlag so the game runs via Exitlag.

Do  netstat -anb

This time, look for a program that could be Exitlag. You can try ping and tracert to this address.

TPG might have a fast path to the Exitlag server, which then has a fast path to the game server. But TPG might have a slow direct path to the game server.
