Hi,
I am receiving emails on my Laptop but am unable to send emails from my Laptop ... although I am able to both send and receive on my iPhone.
I have not changed any settings on either.
Curiously, I am able to send email to myself and to others (my wife) with tpg email accounts, but noone else.
The message I get when I attempt to Send email from my Laptop is like this:
Subject: Undeliverable: Test from Dad on TPG_24May2020
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
Subject: Test from Dad on TPG_24May2020
Sent: 24/05/2020 4:24 PM
The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:
'X' on 24/05/2020 4:24 PM
Server error: '550 5.7.1 <X>... Relaying denied. Proper authentication required.'
Any thoughs / help ideas before I attempt to call TPG and spend hours on the phone?
Thanks,
Scrooge
On your iphone, do you use a mail client or Post Office via browser?
On your laptop, can you send mail ok using Post Office via browser?
Is it only a problem on your laptop using a mail client?
Check SMTP authentication in your mail client.
Your username and password in your mail client on laptop might be wrong.
You can do a search on that error message Relaying ...etc on internet.
Thanks.
Tried the things as you suggested and reviewed via 'google' also as you suggested and I think its a TPG Postmaster intervention to fix as all the things I can do have not changed the 'bounce back' message and failure to Send.
Based on the literature, it seems that it's an issue that occurs when you try to send emails outside of a wireless network - as I'm in at the moment waiting for TPG to restore my ADSL2+ internet service ... a different, but possibly related issue.
Very much appreciate your advice though.
Cheers!
