Transfering to TPG NBN in a few weeks from Chariot ADSL.
Initial set up for e-mail requires TPG username .
Would prefer to use alias as username was allocated by TPG and not our choice.
If we initially set up our e-mail address and e-mail usernames as alias@tpg.com.au will that work
or must we use the TPG allocated user address and name.?

Just to clarify your query. Do you want to use your "Alias email address" and set it up as your primary email address? If it is, yes, as long as you managed to register or create your "Alias" on "My Account".
However, you still need to configure it using your original TPG account username and password. You may refer to the Email settings here.
