Is it possible to set up a VPN with a VX420-G2h? I followed some instructions but there doesn't seem to be a VPN tab in the modem.

This is not a supported feature of the TPG provided modem/router.
You may use a third party VPN that will be configured to your devices.

You do not change any settings on your modem/router.
The third party VPN provider will give you the details on how to setup their application.
