Wifi not working well in certain areas of the house

We have issues with wifi access to our main living room.
Router is at the other end of the house.
We do have an ethernet cable running from the modem into a PC located in the room next to the living room.
I am thinking of adding a wifi booster or extender to that ethernet cable to improve coverage in the living room.
Anybody done similar?

Adding a WiFi booster/extender or access point and maybe the Mesh network is a good idea to improve your home WiFi network.

It will help lessen or eliminate any black spots in your premises.
