Wireless broadband modem low signal

Hi, 

My wireless broadband modem isn't getting the best signal on cloudy days, we are unable to use as devices as well as clear days. Can I install the antennas on the back of the modem to help improve this.

I have tried moving the modem around and the position it is in seems to give the best signal on the clear days.
