Your internet has bee shaped - what does this mean

I received this msg and email. 

We've shaped your Internet connection speed as you've reached your monthly usage quota. This shaping will be removed at the start of your next billing cycle on 16/05/2024. 

Please can someone explain this.

Hi Helen, this only applies if your plan has a monthly quota. The speed will be shaped for the period in which the monthly usage quota has been exceeded (peak and/or off peak). 

Your monthly quota will reset at the start of the next billing cycle.
