I get the following message:

The original message was received at Sat, 18 Aug 2018 13:01:25 +1000 from [117.90.210.155]

This message was generated by mail16.tpgi.com.au

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- <tutuchao@16763.com>

I have not sent this message and it does not appear anywhere in my Outlook folders. Never seen this email address...

The other day I had hundred returned emails like this and it blocked my capacity to send /receive. How can I stop this? My antivirus (Eset) does not see anything wrong in my system.

Thanks

rousself

Hi @rousself,

This Error message might be the cause of your Mail Client has been attacked by some virus or malware.

Try to change your TPG account password online: https://www.tpg.com.au/home/myaccount

After changing the password Wait for 15-30 minutes before testing the mail or run a full scan on your computer.

Let me know if we can be of further assistance.

Thanks guys, the change of password worked fine. All back to normal, and no more “returned mail” notifications from mails that were never sent from me in the last 3 days. Fingers crossed.

Still have not been able to detect the malware with ESET antivirus. Should I try Spybot?

Thanks

If you are already using Windows 10 on your computer, then you might want to use its built-in antivirus application: Windows Defender Antivirus.

If you are running Windows 10, version 1703 and later, the Windows Defender Antivirus is now part of the Windows Defender Security Center.

See below guide on how to do a virus scan.

  1. Open the Windows Defender Security Center app by clicking the shield icon in the task bar or searching the start menu for Defender.

  2. Click the Virus & threat protection tile (or the shield icon on the left menu bar).

  3. Click Scan now.

  4. Click Run a new advanced scan to specify different types of scans, such as a full scan.

I personaly use it for scanning and Windows Defender as  PC protection for my Windows 10 version1803 Computer. In addition you should  always keep your Windows 10 up to date as Microsoft often send security patches thru Windows Update.

Hope this help you. Smiley Happy
