Phone 1 light is lit where we have no phone actually connected to the modem. the WIFI would randomly disconnect and connect again, while playing online games you would get kicked of saying you lost your connection. this problem was experienced after resetting the modem.
Looks to me the current firmware Phone 1 stays on when the phone number is registered to their servers.
Regardless if a phone is plugged in or not. (I have a phone pluged in both ports only Phone 1 is on)
Are you having the same dropouts on both 2.4 and 5 Ghz bands?
Other devices that may affect the 2.4Ghz signal include old cordless phone, microwave, garage door opener and even Wireless Headphones.
