working nbn connection box showing all the lights, no dsl or internet light on modem, whats up?

recently got my nbn fttc connected, tpg supplied nbn box and modem all the lights seem correct on the nbn box but the modem doesnt show dsl or internet light... do i need a new modem? ive tried differnet ethernet cables to no success...
