Hi there

Is the home voip service provided by nbn via tpg secure? Does TPG encrypt by any means the voice packets between our modem and your servers?

Thanks

Hi @Rand0m ,

Welcome to the community!

Yes it is secure, The VoIP Home Phone is encrypted for security and it can only be access using our supplied modem/router.

Let me know should you require further assistance.

Sorry @Shane one more question regarding the subject, does TPG uses RTP protocol or sRTP? sorry for the after thought, and thus do encrypt the connection with the SIP server or the actual voice data packets.

Thanks again

Hi @Rand0m,

TPG’s VoIP service operates on a private network, the Traffic to and from a TPG NBN VoIP service does not traverse the internet.

We do not provide protocol specific information on the VoIP service as the current VoIP product is not designed to be configured on third party devices.
