how to extend rings on a landline phone

To anyone who may assist

I just checked the number of rings on my landline and it rings for a maximum of 12 times before going dead.

I do not use a message service and so I would like my landline to keep ringing until the person calling me decides to hang up.

If this is possible how may one implement it.
