reoccurring landline problems

hi we are having a reocurring problem with the landline. it stops working and we ring tpg and they get us to reset the modem (we have to get a relative to help with this) and it works again but then a couple of weeks later the same thing happens. we have changed phones and it still happens, we are gettin very frustrated because we would be relying on this phone in an emergency . just wondering if anyone else has had this problem
