Is your current connection ADSL or NBN?
A separate internet connection would need a second phone line which may or may not be possible with NBN.
Is there a broadband cable running along your street? You might be able to get a HFC connection?
You can check your address on TPG or NBN web sites to see what is available, and whether they match.
