I have had the TPG 5G Sagemcom modem for around a month now. At first it was almost always on 5G, but lately it has been spending more and more time on 4G. It has been on 4G all day today. The download speed on 5G varies from 25 Mbps up to 75Mbps, but on 4G it goes down as low as 3.7mbps - on 19th May at 9:16PM. The modem has been in the same location since installation, and it is the best location for 5G reception in our unit. Unless TPG can improve this situation, I'll be forced to return the modem, cancel my TPG account and go with the Telstra firbe optic system. Location is Lower River Terrace, South Brisbane with a clear view across to the city.
