In the past 2 weeks, my TPG-supplied VR1600v has been having issues with wireless clients failing to get DHCP addresses. The issue seems to happen when the DHCP leases expire and they are unable to refresh or request a new IP address from the built-in DHCP server. When looking at the System Logs, I see multiple logs stating 'No ip addresses to give, OFFER abandoned.'
There is no other DHCP server on this network. My DHCP pool is configured to provide up to 74 addresses and there have been only around 11-15 wired/wireless devices connected when I see this DHCP exhaustion issue.
Doing a hard reboot is usually required to fix the issue for a little while. I also performed a Factory Default Restore last week and reconfigured the router from scratch, but the issue returned this morning.
I also work from home, so this issue is causing unacceptable downtime!
Is this a known issue with this router model? Is there a firmware update to fix this issue?
