Can you keep your modem once your contract rolls over?

Hi there,

I was wondering if the router connected to the NBN modem provided by TPG is ours to keep once the initial contract time period ends, or do we have to return the modem to TPG if we cancel our plan even after the cancellation taking place well after the initial contract period (e.g. after 6 months)?
