Compatible router for NBN modem

Hi,

I'm using NBN modem with an ASUS router which may have been 'compromised' for the security. Is there a list of recommended routers that is reliable with DPI? I know my router is being 'scanned' and a service provider already warned me of suspicious behaviour with my IP address.

Any help is appreciate.

Thanks,

TW

Hi @t5935231

Thanks for the query.

We do not have a list of compatible modem/router for the NBN service, but we can inform you on what type of modem/router you should look for.

Since you are under the NBN HFC technology, the modem/router that you should look needs to be configured with VLAN ID 2 and can support the speed from 100 Mbps to 1000 Mbps (For future upgrade). The connection type available should be PPPoE.

Hi @t5935231 . Why do you think your Asus router has been compromised?

Some routers have stateful packet inspection and other strategies.

TPG have access to the source and destination tcp port numbers in tcpip messages.

Since most NBN users have dynamic public ip addresses, you can't easily be found.
