HFC compatible router

Hey, looking to purchase a new HFC compatible router.  I went out and bought the netgear D6220 today and spent 3hrs on the phone to find out it isn't HFC compatible, so now need to replace it with a new one.  Is there a list of compatible devices? Was looking at the TP-Link VR900 but want to make sure it will work.  Thanks

Hi @Rhardy

Welcome to the Community!

The device that you purchased appears to be NBN Compatible based on the its manual.

You just need to make sure that you configure it correctly with VLAN ID to 2 and PPPoE connection type using your TPG username and password.

Note:

The bundled Phone service will not work when you use a third party device.

Have you contacted Netgear support to guide you with the setup? The NBN NTD box needs to be connected to the WAN port of your Netgear as well.

You may check the Manual of your device for further guidance or information.

Hi Rhardy.

Did you configure for VDSL?

Go to Basic>Internet page.

From the Transfer Mode menu, select PTM.
When you select PTM from the Transfer Mode menu, the only option in the DSL Mode menu is VDSL2.
8. From the menu above the Enable This Interface check box, select the virtual interface that you are
configuring.
• Internet. In all situations, the Internet virtual interface is the one that you must configure first. The
IPTV virtual interface applies only to a few ISPs. In most situations you can ignore the IPTV virtual
interface.
9. Make sure that the Enable This Interface check box is selected for the interface that you are configuring.

Then do the PPPoE, userid, password and VLAN ID settings.
