TP-Link AX3000 Router and FTTB

Hey! 👋

First time poster.

We’re on TPG’s FTTB and using the supplied modem which is old and can’t cope with the number of devices we’re trying to connect to it.

So… after reading many reviews we’re keen to upgrade to TP Links’s Archer AX50 “AX3000” Dual Band Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Router.

My question is… will it work?

Has anyone else being able to use this model with their FTTB? Was it a pain to set up? Is the modem good? Will my life now be complete?

NOTE: I don't us VoIP calling, if that makes any difference. Thanks all!

Hi @PicknMix

The device you are eyeing to purchase is a router only.

This will not work with your TPG FTTB as it is required to be a VDSL2 modem/router, that has a VDSL/DSL port.

Once you got a VDSL2 modem/router, just configure the connection type to PPPoE using your TPG username and password, then set the VLAN ID to 2.

You should be able to get the internet, but the VoIP will not work.
